You'll resolve unfamiliar errors faster, write better documentation, and script more confidently.

What you'll need

  • ChatGPT Plus account ($20/month at chatgpt.com) — the free tier works but Plus gives GPT-4o and faster responses
  • 20 minutes to configure your default instructions
  • Basic knowledge of your environment: OS versions, main applications, ticketing system
  • Time needed: 20-30 minutes initial setup; 2-5 minutes per use after that

Step 1: Sign up for ChatGPT Plus

  1. Go to chatgpt.com
  2. If you don't have an account, click Sign up
  3. If you have a free account, click your profile icon → Upgrade to Plus → complete payment
  4. Select the GPT-4o model in the new conversation dropdown

What you should see: Your model selector shows "GPT-4o" at the top of a new conversation.

Troubleshooting: If the upgrade button isn't visible, try in a different browser or incognito mode — sometimes there's a display caching issue.
